Dear Church family,
I hope you are having a good week. It was wonderful to be together on Sunday and I really felt God’s Spirit at work amongst us. Whilst I realise we addressed a challenging subject over the past two weeks, when we humble ourselves before him and seek his holiness and purity, we will experience more of God’s presence and that is exciting. If you weren’t with us on either of the last two Sundays then do catch up with the sermon online or you can watch the video on our youtube channel. Having preached these sermons I have a sense since, that they were key words from God for us as a church at this time.
This week our adventurers return. It was a joy personally for us as a family to have Nells home on Sunday, she was so encouraged by her time in Burundi and has come back buzzing and I know Loz has too. We also look forward to hearing from the group who have been in Kolkata and the Goddards who were also in Burundi. Over the coming weeks we’ll have a chance to hear a bit more in church and we plan to run a special evening in the LifeCentre (or Guywood if we need more space) where our all those who have been away can inspire and encourage us with stories of what they’ve seen God and his people doing. We will share details of that as soon as we have a date.
Next week is half term, so that will mean holidays for some and some changes to midweek groups. Please pray for the Cherry Tree project who are running a holiday club in the Guywood for two days next week, supporting children and young people in our community. This is an amazing opportunity for them to show God’s love and grace to these young people, so do pray for an outpouring of the Holy Spirit.
Tonight we have our monthly prayer event for February. God is on the move, lives are being changed and this is all the fruit of us being a praying people. Praying isn’t something we delegate to others, it’s something for all of us to be a part of, so come and join us in the LifeCentre at 7.30pm – come and be a part of what God is doing.
With love
Richard.
